Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
Our Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling will benefit learners who want to train to become a counsellor. Upon successful completion of this course will enable you to provide a therapeutic counselling service within the context of an agency’s service framework.
The 2 year Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling includes an integrative approach with the three main approaches and more in depth of person centred and Psychodynamics with Existential theory. It Also covering issues of race, culture, religion, Islam and power dynamics
Learners will develop as a counsellor both personally and professionally through role plays, linking theory to practice, personal development, external counselling placement and supervision.
The following units will completed and assessed:-
- Professional organisational issues in counselling
- Counselling in a diverse society
- Advanced Counselling theory
- Advanced Counselling practice
- Self-awareness for Counsellors
- Research methodologies in counselling and a research project
- Counselling placement
In addition you will cover Mental health issues Anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, self harm and assessing suicide risk and more
Entry requirements
You must have obtained both level 2 and level 3 or equivalent which is required to undertake this qualification but candidates must be able to cope with course content which involves written essays, Peer assessments and group work.

2 year part time course delivered one weekend or two Sundays a month

Successful candidates can
- Register with BACP
- Progress to Level 5 in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Open University

Total cost £5400.
This equates to £2700 per year. this includes registration with the governing body and assessments. Monthly payment option is available
